The sun is out, school is out, and it’s time to start thinking about the beach. Or the pool. Or your backyard with the hose. Whatever your hot-day remedy may be, you need to be prepared. It’s not snow suit season anymore, Mamas! Here are the top five ways to get beach ready (and some of our favorite places to do them!).
Waxing
Eyebrows, legs, or down-below, waxing can be a huge time saver when it comes to short shorts and 5 minute date night looks. If you’ve never done it before it’s not as scary as it seems. Find a reputable location, and a waxer who can distract you with conversation while she rips whips you into shape!

The Suit
No woman should have to hit up the beach (or kiddie pool) without swimwear that makes them feel amazing. Whether you’re a bikini mama, a cover-up cal, or a swim skirt fanatic, find something that suits your swim style. I recently found some great choices at Venus.com (free shipping and exchanges make trying on in your own home a great option for busy moms). Want to shop in store?
The Tan
Skin care is important, especially to protect from sun damage in the summer’s hot rays. If you don’t have a daily sunscreen you love (I like Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch for daily wear on the face) find that. Then fake your tan. Never done a spray tan? It’s quick and easy, and it’s no longer orange!

Microblading
If you’ve been noticing that every random woman on the street looks like her eyebrows are runway ready you’ve probably been seeing the effects of microblading on the general public. This semi-permanent tattooing technique uses hairlike strokes to fill in brows and give that pencil-perfect look. While a bit more than the cost of an eyebrow pencil (typical cost runs from $500-$1500) this look can last for 1-3 years. Do your research before diving in on this one.

The Pedicure
Have your feet forgotten what life outside of those Sorel boots feels like? Fear not. A luxurious pedicure will give you a morning off and whip those calluses into shape. Don’t have a place you love?
